“Check-out” IN State Parks

In 2016, Hoosiers can check out state parks by checking out an entrance pass from a public library.  The State Park Centennial Annual Pass Library Check-out Program is a partnership between Indiana State Parks and the Indiana State Library to encourage people to visit libraries and parks.

At libraries across Indiana, 240 state park passes have been placed in circulation for check-out. The passes will provide access to Indiana’s 32 state parks and also to Indiana’s state forest recreation areas where entrance fees are charged. Passes will be available for check-out from Jan. 1-Dec. 31.

The program is one way Indiana State Parks is celebrating its centennial anniversary. The Indiana State Parks system was a gift to the people of Indiana in 1916 in celebration of the state’s centennial. The TumbleBook Library is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books) with fiction, non-fiction and foreign language titles, Read-Alongs (chapter books with sentence highlighting and narration but no animation), TumbleTV which consists of pre-set playlists of a sequence of books and Tumble Puzzles & Games. TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which we have licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format.

To acess the TumbleBooks collection, click on the banner above. Patrons will need to enter their library card number when accessing the collection at home.

Support Your Public Library

If you would like information on how to donate to the Bourbon Public Library’s Permanent Endowment Fund, which was established through the Marshall County Community Foundation by the Bourbon Sesquicentennial Committee in 2010 to help support the Library, please visit  Since then, the Library has been able to make several needed improvements thanks to the annual disbursement from the fund - materials for local high school volunteers to paint a mural in Children's hallway, a touchscreen computer for the Children's Area, new seating areas upstairs and downstairs, and new entry mats.  Thank you for your support!
